Volendam, the Netherlands, 1925 by janwillemsen on Flickr

Here's a new group of rare Dutch girl names. I'm working on the boy names now and they are seriously tripping me out. So far, I've seen Broadcast, Blitz, Bramble and Buick  and those are only from the Bs.

Hope you enjoy these —

Anemoon
Annewil — this and Willien (mentioned below) are so much sharper than Willa or Willow, I feel
Bibiche
Cavatala
Elianthe
Evi-Marlène
Fenne-Beau
Idyl — why not!
Jacomine — new Jac- names are always intriguing, and you know I love an "-ine" ending
Leanour
Leysae
Lusevana
Maelief — so charming
Marilotte
May-Britt
Minoe
Nele-Fleur
Phillou — this one totally gets me
Quilla
Sannefleur
Suara
Tessely
Veralí
Willien
Yslide
Zoéline

  1. Sannefleur is great! I like both individually but they look very nice together too. I also like Maelief (though I prefer Madelief).

    1. Phillou also reminds me of the yoghurt brand - Petits Filous (silent s), which used to have the advertising campaign of 'helps makes bones grow strongerer'. One of the child actors in them was called Fox.

  4. Another fabulous crop. I love all the combination names: Sannefleur, Nele-Fleur, Maelief, Marilotte, Evi-Marlène, Fenne-Beau etc. Elianthe is also gorgeous.

  5. Zoeline is pretty but I love Minoe. I think we're gonna use it for our girl. We love the 'oe' sound at the end but it's different from willow. It's unique.
